Yeah, I expect my party to be completely different on the evil playthrough... simply because of other character's Alignments or class preference/hatred.

Spoiler below:
Since I will be a mage, I can pick a particular path to make up for any losses like healing (or do the same for Morrigan).

My only main concern is being able to "bang" Alistair. I should hopefully have 3 of the 4 "love" quests done on my first playthrough, but to get the 4th (Alistair), i need to be female and that might be difficult since he's such a tree hugger. Basically I can never have him in my party in case I choose to do something naughty... and I'll have to keep giving him gifts and asking him about himself.

Does the PC version have the achievements? I remember Spore had a type of EA achievements that were very similar to Xbox's. I would assume they'd use the same ones for this game since it's both an EA PC game and an xbox/ps3 game.

Spoiler below:
It''s way easier to have the female character good and the evil character male. Morrigan is easy to get being naughty, Alistair and Leliana are way easier if you're good. And you can get Leliana as either a male or a female so why not do it as a girl mage? No real downside.

Yes, the PC version has achievements. http://social.bioware.com/playerprofile.php?game=dragonage1_pc&nid=2301707320

Now, that's like 2 weeks out of date for me . . . I don't know why.

I took my mecha in for an upgrade and refit. Can you believe they STILL don't have a decent coffee maker module for these things?

Ha! that's pretty cool.

I just updated my bioware account, but it looks like DA:O is the only game you can register with your profile.

Well, after beating the game I've come to realize that being good, bad, or neutral really doesn't change anything. The only thing that changes is the dialog when NPCs reply to you. The only thing that actually changes the plot are the decisions you make during the 5 major quests in the game. There really is no good or bad choice... but I did tend to make the "nicer" of the choices, if you can even call them that. So on my second playthough, I'm going to pick the slightly more evil choices (if you can even call them that).

Excellent game, highly recommended (although I hated the end boss).

I also managed to get 3 or the 4 endings with my first playthrough (i saved at the right times). The fourth I'll get with my Mage.

I'm also playing through all of the Origin stories right now... only have 2 left. Very well done and nice original concept.

I'll be done in time for Mass Effect 2

Sure you can get multiple endings, but you still have to actually play the final few battles several times.

I've got about 2/3rds of the achievements completed, not sure if I want to play enough to actually get them all or not.

I'm guessing in honor of DA:O Awakening being released today... Steam decided to offer the original Dragon Age: Origins for $33

http://store.steampowered.com/app/17450/

great game if you don't already have it.

So has anyone picked up DA: Awakening? is it any good?

I'm finishing up my third playthrough in Origins (warrior this time) and only have 3 more achievements to go. Getting ready for Awakening

I'm waiting until I can find it for a reduced price. Every review of it I've read (admittedly, only like 3) has criticized the same point - that it's entirely too short of an experience for the price.

I'm not going to pay $30 for it. When I can catch it for $15 or so, sure.

yeah, I've been reading that it's pretty short for the price.

Might have to wait for the GOTY edition with all the DLC bundled in and then just sell my copy.
